Considered one of the "big three" of jazz guitarists (along with Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell), John Scofield is a masterful jazz improviser whose music blends post-bop, fusion, and soul jazz. Also renowned as a composer, Scofield is simultaneously well acquainted with Bebop, R&B and blues styles, which he mixes seamlessly with his jazz playing. In the past he has collaborated with artists such as Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Joe Lovano, and Bill Frisell. Long time collaborators bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Bill Stewart join him for this performance.
