
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Event: The Artist Series presents Arturo Sandoval LATIN JAZZ GREAT ARTURO SANDOVAL The CU Artist Series presents a performance by Arturo Sandoval in Boulder’s Macky Auditorium Thursday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. Cuban-born trumpeter Arturo Sandoval was a protégé of the legendary Dizzy Gillespie and a founder of the ground-breaking band Irakere. Winner of four Grammy Awards, six Billboard Awards and an Emmy, Sandoval is internationally recognized as one of the most important figures in Latin jazz and a phenomenal classical trumpeter as well. Mr. Sandoval will be joined on the stage by drummer Alexis Arce, percussionist Tomas Cruz, pianist Dave Siegel, saxophonist Felip Lamoglia, and bassist Armando Gola.
